About Dr. Tudor Trache

Dr. Tudor Trache is a Swiss-trained orthopaedic and trauma surgeon. Born in Romania, he completed his medical degree and doctorate at the University of Leipzig in Germany. His career then led him to Switzerland, where he earned Swiss specialty certifications in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery as well as General Surgery.

He worked as a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at two Level 1 trauma centres in Switzerland before completing a Foot and Ankle Adult Reconstruction fellowship at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Trache is thrilled to be joining the Orthopaedic Surgery team at Saint Paul’s Hospital. His clinical research focuses on ankle joint and tendon biomechanics and total ankle replacement. He is fluent in English, German, and Romanian. Outside the clinic, he is an avid mountain biker and backcountry skier, and he likes to unwind by playing the guitar.
