About Dr. Alex Hoffer

Dr. Alex Hoffer is a home-grown Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Division of Arthroscopy at the University of British Columbia. He grew up in the tri-cities and completed medical school and residency in orthopaedic surgery at UBC. After residency, he completed a one-year fellowship in knee preservation surgery at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic. At the same time, he obtained a master’s degree focused on lower limb biomechanics at Western University. He completed a second fellowship at the Mayo Clinic Arizona in shoulder and sports surgery to maximize the quality of care he can deliver to patients back home! When not working, his toddler daughter keeps him running around, and like all British Columbians he enjoys staying active in our beautiful backyard.
