Matthew Fischer MPT, BKin

Physiotherapist

About Matthew Fischer

Matthew obtained his Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and has since obtained his Level 1 Orthopaedic Manual Therapy certification. He has also taken a course in active release techniques.

Matthew believes in a patient centred approach to get people back to the activities they love. He has been through his own fair share of injuries such as an achilles tendon rupture which has helped him see from the patient point of view how important it is they have an active role in their rehab and goal setting. A treatment session with Matthew would involve a combination of education, manual therapy and individualized exercises backed by evidence to fit the patient’s needs.

Outside the clinic you will find Matthew rock climbing (bouldering especially!) at the Hive or outdoors in Squamish. Other sports Matthew loves to play and compete in are volleyball, basketball and ultimate frisbee. If you don’t see Matthew playing a sport you will see him watching anime, playing video games or trying new restaurants in the lower mainland (recommendations are always encouraged!)
