About Footbridge Physiotherapy

Footbridge Physiotherapy works collaboratively alongside the integrated orthopaedic team at Footbridge to provide high quality musculoskeletal care. Our approach emphasizes active strategies to maximize recovery and empower you on your rehab journey.

The team of physiotherapists integrates seamlessly with the interdisciplinary team to individualize and maximize your pathway to health. Our goal is to provide the best physiotherapy services possible.

Services Offered

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapy services include comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment and treatment. We look at the body as a holistic unit, and appreciate that treating the whole body is crucial.

No matter the injury we are here to help: spine, pelvis, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, or foot and ankle. We do it all, and incorporating the whole body can be critical to getting the best outcomes for you.

Sport Physiotherapy for All Levels

Whether you are an elite competitor or weekend warrior we are here to get you back in the game. Having an extensive athlete clientele, we are accustomed to working with high achieving individuals, no matter the sport or pursuit.

Sport physiotherapy may take many forms, but regardless of the starting point our goal is always to get you back to peak form.

Come see us to explore how we might help you with injury prevention, getting rid of a nagging pain limiting your potential or recovering from a major injury.

Running Assessment and Training Plans

Injuries from running are far too common and can be a serious limiter to your running success. We will work with you to create a bespoke plan to maximize your rehabilitation when injured or help you progress to new personal bests when healthy.

Our Running Assessments include a treadmill video running analysis, running specific orthopaedic assessment, discussion of training and your goals. We then build a plan designed specifically around your needs: including both running training, and physical rehabilitation.

Pre and Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Are you preparing for surgery? Let us help you make the most of your recovery both before and after.

Pre-Operative Rehabilitation can be very important in setting the stage for successful recovery following surgery. The stronger you go in, the stronger you go out.

Following surgery, we work with the orthopaedic team at Footbridge to establish a protocol for your recovery and individualize our approach to get maximum results.

Athletic Performance Management

Maximizing athletic performance requires the right combination of ingredients, just at the right time. Developing and maintaining peak physical capacities is a key component of athletic success and that is where we can help.

Our process starts with identifying key areas for improvement while taking into consideration past injuries, the needs of your sport, load management, and your goals. Working to keep you healthy and simultaneously improving physical performance is our objective.

We have a passion for helping athletes develop to be their best!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a physician referral to come to Footbridge Physiotherapy?

No – a referral is not required to see a Physiotherapist.  If you do have a referral though, bring it along with you.

Can you direct bill my extended health plan?

We are able to direct bill most major extended health plans, however not all individual plans allow for direct billing.  Please check with your insurance provider if you are unsure.

Do you only treat foot and ankle conditions at Footbridge?

No!  Our Physiotherapists are able to treat musculoskeletal conditions for all areas of the body.

I have an ICBC or WorkSafe BC claim, what do I need to do prior to booking an appointment?

For both ICBC and WorkSafe injuries, you need to have a claim number prior to booking your appointment.  You are provided with a claim number when you report your claim to either of these parties.  There are no up front fees for approved WCB/ICBC claims.

What do I need to do prior to my Physiotherapy Assessment?

We have an electronic questionnaire to fill out prior to your first appointment.  A link to this is provided when you book your appointment (either via text message or e-mail, whichever you prefer).  It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes to complete. If you are unable to complete this prior to your appointment, please come in 15-20 minutes early to complete it.

If you have a referral, bring this with you so we can have it on file. If you have an extended health plan, bring along your policy card so we can try to direct bill the appointment.

If this is a lower extremity injury (hip, knee, ankle, or foot), wearing shorts or loose fitting pants will allow your Physiotherapist to assess the injury appropriately.   If your injury is to your shoulder or upper back, please wear a top that will expose your area of injury. Gowns and shorts can be provided in the clinic if needed.
